Winter exercise tips
Many of us tend to put on some extra weight during winter, then we strive to burn it off in spring ready for summer.
Now, putting on 1-2 kilos or maybe a bit more shouldn't worry you too much if you have your weight management under control, but not exercising in winter should be a worry.
Not only does exercising in the cold help you maintain a healthy lifestyle, it also can help your immune system in fighting those nasty colds & flus. & with all our lives busier than ever, who has the time to get sick & feel rotten?
Following are 3 tips to get you started:
- Warm-up & stretch: this is usually a given but in winter this is a must because your body temperature is lower
- Moisturise: if you're prone to skin dryness from the cold air
- Drink plenty of water: this is just as crucial in winter as in summer, although we don't all realise it, in fact we can dehydrate in winter too
