We want you to leave the excuses behind, & make the most of the winter seasons last month, which has us all wanting to hibernate! Learn how to stay healthy, warm & cosy this month & begin to 'feel alright' ready for upcoming spring!

Winter exercise tips

Many of us tend to put on some extra weight during winter, then we strive to burn it off in spring ready for summer. Now, putting on 1-2 kilos or maybe a bit more shouldn't worry you too much if you have your weight management under control, but not exercising in winter should be a worry.

Not only does exercising in the cold help you maintain a healthy lifestyle, it also can help your immune system in fighting those nasty colds & flus. & with all our lives busier than ever, who has the time to get sick & feel rotten?

Following are 3 tips to get you started:

- Warm-up & stretch: this is usually a given but in winter this is a must because your body temperature is lower
- Moisturise: if you're prone to skin dryness from the cold air
- Drink plenty of water: this is just as crucial in winter as in summer, although we don't all realise it, in fact we can dehydrate in winter too
